The Giso 6350, designed in 1957 for Gispen, is the standing edition of Wim Rietveld’s famous Giso 4050 wall lamp. Just like its precursor, the lamp is lovingly called ‘Panama’ thanks to its likeness to the iconic Ecuadorian straw hat with a broad brim.

The lamp’s sizeable stature give it quite a stately allure, allowing it to serve as a substantial light source for indirect lighting next to its use as an adjustable reading lamp. The long, slender arm with cone shaped, rubber grip allows the lamp to be adjusted into countless positions — even vertically upright. The cable is neatly secured inside, the base is of a modest circumference. Everything comes together in outstanding harmony.

Throughout the years, the light bulb diffuser often goes missing or is severely cracked, but here the original one is still beautifully intact, making this Panama lamp all the more rare.
