Around 1927 Frits Spanjaard developed his own distinct style, visible in projects for family members. His own house in Wassenaar, designed in 1927 shows how much the sculptural qualities of his furniture influence the architecture around them. The interior, although created with more modest materials than for his clients, features light coloured furniture with the distinctive horizontal lines in combination with Persian rugs and modern art.

This table was part of the seating group in his own living room and is a rare and personal example of the work by Frits Spanjaard.
