The ‘Dordrecht’ chair designed by Willem van Gelderen (1903-1992) in 1949/1950 is the first easy chair produced by the renown Dutch furniture manufacturer ‘t Spectrum after WWII. This chair holds an important position in the history of post-war industrial and modernist design in the Netherlands, and the tradition of ‘t Spectrum in particular. Still today, ‘t Spectrum produces fantastic furniture with talented designers.

This specimen is in very good vintage condition with only minor traces of usage. Recently provided with new upholstery, maintaining the characteristic fastening system with original metal strips holding the cushion in place. The ‘Dordrecht’ chair is a rare, breathtaking icon of innovative design.
