The Everest drafting chair is a rarity. It was produced in a small edition, only few have stood the test of time and even less remain in untainted, original condition. The information that this is a design by P.J van der Klugt was given to us by Coen de Vries who also design for Everest in the fifties and sixties.

This specimen is still entirely authentic. The solid staff steel of its tendril legs has not been refinished, the bright red seating has not been repainted and exposes beautiful traces of wear. The two white caps at the rear are usually missing, but here they still crown the stark backside. The everest sticker is perfectly in tact.

The chair stands high on its legs, connected by an exact X that latches into a comfortable footrest. Backrest and seating are identical, suiting the efficient industrial making of this harmonious design.
